European Trauma Course - EN
WHAT IS THE EUROPEAN TRAUMA COURSE (ETC)?
The ETC course lasts 2.5 days and is mainly focused on practical training.
It emphasizes working in small groups. Up to 85% of the training is based on simulated scenarios, each focusing on specific areas related to trauma. As the course progresses, the scenarios become increasingly complex.
At the beginning of the course, you will be assigned your own personal mentor, who will support and advise you throughout the entire course.

HOW DID THE FIRST SLOVAK ETC LOOK LIKE?
This video captures the atmosphere of the first Slovak ETC, which took place at the end of November 2025. It was an exceptional gathering focused on trauma, bringing together 30 participants interested in professional development, sharing experiences, and gaining new perspectives from clinical practice.
During the ETC, participants had the opportunity to learn from the knowledge and experience of professionals from various trauma-related fields across Europe, gaining new information, inspiration, and a deeper understanding of trauma care.
In the video, you can see how the ETC unfolded, what the atmosphere was like, and what made this meeting so special.

Attend as a trauma support practitioner (TSP)
A real trauma team is never composed only of doctors. Every healthcare professional who is part of the team plays an important role. The Trauma Support Practitioner (TSP) position is suitable for nurses or paramedics working in the emergency department. In rare cases, the TSP role in the European Trauma Course (ETC) may also be filled by a doctor shortly after graduating from medical school.
During the European Trauma Course (ETC), TSPs learn how to collaborate effectively within a team when managing patients with severe trauma, while also helping to create a realistic flow of simulation scenarios.
TSPs are expected to participate fully as equal members of the trauma team, working within the scope of their usual clinical practice.
What does a TSP do during the ETC course?
TSP participants are not assessed in the team leader role during the final exam on the third day, but they do take part in the examination scenarios. After successfully completing the course, you will receive an ETC TSP certificate.
